Poliż Folk Festival - fundraising for the festival
What will you fundraise for today?
Description
Poliż Folk * is a festival in small village in Poland that promotes and celebrates the creativity of folk artists and contemporary performers who draw inspiration from folklore and tradition. It allows traditional culture to survive within contemporary entertainment, classical, relaxation, meditation, dance, and jazz music. The festival invites performers whose music draws from ethnic sources: folk texts, melodies, ceremonial and traditional songs, harmony, and stylistic features characteristic of selected folk cultures. The inclusion of ethnic instruments in their arrangements is encouraged. Inspiration can be drawn from folk traditions from all over the world.
In addition to concerts, Poliż Folk also features a range of other events that promote traditional culture, including exhibitions, lectures, workshops, relaxation sessions with ethnic instruments, folk dance parties with live bands and traditional dance instructors.
We provide a camping area with sanitation facilities, parking, support for people with disabilities, and a warm, family-friendly atmosphere.
So far, we have organized two editions funded by government sources, but this year we did not receive the necessary funding. We do not want our initiative to fade away. This event is very important, not only for the promotion of culture but also for community integration. It brings together local residents and helps rebuild the identity of a village that was once degraded during the socialist realism era and somewhat forgotten after its fall.
In previous editions, admission to the festival has been free, and we would like to maintain that this year as well.
What the donations will be used for:
- Honoraria and hospitality for artists and the entertainer
- Workshops - salaries for instructors, trainers, speakers
- Sound system, lighting and stage staff
- Toilets
- Event security staff
- Graphic design and printing - posters, banners, stage design
*The name "Poliż Folk” is a play on words. "Poliż" means "lick" in Polish and it is pronounced the same as "Polish". So on our Polish festival you can lick the folk inspired music :)
