The Humanitarian Ball of Medics is a project of MEDRA students with the longest tradition at the University of Rijeka, whose motto is: " Song and dance for someone's better tomorrow! ". For the 67th year in a row, on May 23, 2026, in the Crystal Hall of the Hotel Kvarner, it is being held with the aim of raising funds for groups/individuals in need. This year, the Ball will raise funds for the "Krijesnica" association . This is a Croatian association that deals with all forms of support for families of children suffering from malignant diseases . The donation will be intended to cover travel and housing costs for families from all over Croatia who have to stay in Zagreb due to oncological treatment of their children. Such support allows the arrival of more family members, without worrying about finding and financing an apartment or hotel, and this is not a luxury, but an integral part of quality treatment.

The Krijesnica Association has been active since September 2000 with the aim of providing help and support to children and young people facing malignant diseases and their families. The need to establish the association arose from the experience of parents and medical staff of the Oncology Department of the Children's Hospital in Zagreb, as well as the need to strengthen communication between parents and improve the quality of care for sick children.
