Who Are We?

We are a Catholic intergenerational community of nearly 50 people who, for over 7 years, have been creating a space with and for young people — living out the words of Psalm 145:

“One generation commends your works to another; they tell of your mighty acts.”

Our Vision

We desire that, through our efforts, young people encounter Jesus and, choosing to follow Him, grow both in their faith and personal development. Our goal is for them to reach full maturity in Christian life — to become strong in the Lord, the light of the world and the salt of the earth, making a real impact on their peers and surroundings.

How Do We Do It?

Based in Kraków, Poland — with a growing group also active in Katowice — we are dedicated to helping children, teens, and young adults grow in faith, identity, and purpose. Each month, we regularly work with around 100 young people through weekly gatherings, worship nights, creative workshops, and retreats. We create meaningful spaces where they can encounter God, discover their gifts, and build lasting relationships.During these gatherings, we explore our relationship with God and with ourselves. We read the Bible, worship through music and dance, listen to inspiring talks, and create space for honest questions, doubts, and open conversation.

At Jafa, we believe deeply in the power of community, creativity, and service. That’s why we not only prioritize deep relationships, but also invest in high-quality workshops that help young people grow in self-awareness and express their talents. And we always make room for joy and fun — because celebration is part of who we are.

We intentionally invite young people to serve alongside us — so they can experience that they already have something to give, not just something to receive. By engaging them in ministry to younger age groups, we help them grow through responsibility, teamwork, and faith in action.

This shared service — guided by adults — becomes a powerful space for formation, where they not only give but are also deeply shaped in the process.Together, we also serve beyond our community through school missions, weekend retreats, and various outreach activities.

Our mission is simple: to invest in the next generation with joy, consistency, and care — so they, in turn, can become light and life for others.

What’s Next?

As we wrap up a school year that brought many logistical challenges, we’re looking ahead to the summer as a crucial time of preparation.

Our biggest hope for the coming months is to finally rent our own dedicated space — a 430 m² detached house — which would allow us to settle, move in, begin the necessary renovations, and launch strong in September.

Over the past year, we’ve had to operate from various temporary locations. Without a place of our own, we were constantly on the move — a situation that put strain not only on our volunteer teams but also on the young people we serve, who had to adapt to changing venues.

Sometimes we even had to cancel meetings due to scheduling conflicts with the organizations that temporarily hosted us. Their own events took priority, and we had no choice but to step aside. Sadly, this instability led to some participants dropping out altogether.

That’s why having a stable, dedicated space is such a priority for us. It would give us the freedom to fully live out our mission and offer young people a consistent, inspiring environment where they feel safe, welcomed, and encouraged to grow.

In addition to securing this space, we also see a growing need to strengthen our team. At the moment, we only have one full-time staff member — which limits our capacity and slows our growth.

Hiring a second full-time team member would allow us to:

• take care of finances and administrative tasks,
• coordinate and support our amazing volunteer team,
• and maintain regular, meaningful communication with our donors and supporters.

Thanks to a combination of our own efforts and the steady support of local donors and friends, we’re currently covering around 60% of our monthly needs. We’re truly grateful for this provision — and at the same time, we’re aware that we still need to bridge the remaining gap in order to continue and grow our mission sustainably.
