Description
Hello! My name is Svetoslav Georgiev and I have a disability rating of over 71% due to visual impairments. I am proud to say that I have competed twice in the Paralympic cross-country skiing events, but recently I have been experiencing serious back problems, which are making me wonder whether I should continue with the sport.
At the moment, I live with my mother, who also has visual impairments and a disability rating of over 75%. Although I strive to be independent and self-sufficient, and to cope with most of the challenges of daily life (until recently I even dreamed of becoming a welder, even though my eyesight does not allow it), our current situation is extremely difficult. Our mud-brick house is in a dilapidated state – the roof leaks, and we do not even have a proper bathroom, as I have improvised a makeshift toilet and other facilities.
This fundraising campaign is of vital importance to us, as it will help us build a safer and more dignified place to live. With this fund, we will be able to build a small but functional house of around 50 square metres, which will provide decent living conditions for my mother and me. Every donation will go directly towards purchasing materials and paying for construction work, so that we can turn this home into a stable and cosy refuge where I can continue to work towards my independence.
***We thank you sincerely and from the bottom of our hearts for your support and for giving us hope for a better future. At this moment, your help is invaluable!
