Description

Hello everyone, and thank you for visiting my campaign page!

I am raising funds for a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity: a planned visit to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (North Korea) in 2026. This journey is motivated by my deep interest in Korean history, culture, and society, and my personal interest in North Korean politics and understanding its system of governance and etc.

I plan to also set a tight budget of about 3000 euros for the entire trip, but this could change if things don't go as planned.

Through this trip, I aim to explore key cultural and historical landmarks, hopefully engage with locals and their customs, and broaden my understanding of the DPRK’s social and political landscape.

This trip won't only include just the DPRK, even if it would be the highlight of the trip, but also China (People's Republic of China), which would be a major part of the trip.

My goal is not only personal growth but also to share my experiences with others through detailed reports, photos, and respectful discussions once I return.

Not many people choose to explore countries like North Korea (especially the DPRK) and China, suprisingly, as it is rich in history and the prices there are astonishingly great, compared to some western, or overtouristy locations like Japan or Western Europe.

Independent travel to Asia outside of the European Union can be difficult, especially on things like Visa's, transport and language barriers, among other things, however things like these are important to overcome in individual growth, something set out by the EU, who seek to grow individuality and their personal growth and experiencing different cultures.

The funds raised will cover essential expenses, including:

- The tour itself (which in total costs ~1400 euros) which includes:

 • The hotel accomodation in the DPRK

 • All transportation within the DPRK

 • All meals in the DPRK

 • Entry fees (unless specified in the itinerary once the tour is chosen)

 • The guides themselves

- DPRK Visa (50 euros)

- Airplane ticket (Round Trip), usually around 500~1000 euros (cheapest!)

- Chinese Visa (105 euros)

- ~2500 Chinese Yuan (RMB/CYN)) (~300 euros) spare cash in the DPRK

- ~2500 Chinese Yuan (RMB/CYN) (~300 euros) spare cash in the PRC

- Bus ticket (To Riga Intl Airport from Estonia and back to Estonia from Riga Intl Airport) ~50 euros

- Hotel in Beijing ~160-200 euros (4 nights)

- Transport in Beijing, 50 euros (Beijing Transportation Card acquiring & topping up)

- ~500 Yuan (~60 euros) food in China for my entire duration and/or part of the trip in China

The spare cash isn't a set in stone thing and things could very much change price wise with some things like transport and food in China as I am hoping to walk more and I usually don't eat a lot, which would bring the finances significantly down.

If you have questions or anything you want to ask me personally, you can send an email to [email protected], you can expect a reply within that same week when you send, it usually depends as I sometimes don't check my email that often, but some days I do.

Thank you for considering a donation to help make this journey a reality. Every bit of support brings me one step closer to achieving this important goal!
