Hello everyone, my name is Maria. I was born and raised in Venezuela; I am the daughter of Portuguese parents and I am 57 years old. Due to the situation in Venezuela, I came to live in Madeira in 2019 with my daughters. Because of my age, I could only find work with a cleaning company, where I have now been for four years. I am still working there, but I am going through a very difficult financial period: what I earn does not cover my expenses, and at the moment I have a debt of over 1,800 euros with various banks, which means my minimum repayment of 660 euros, plus electricity and water bills, takes up almost my entire salary of 875 euros.
