Description
On 12 August 2025, the stable of Yannis in Amani, Chios, where 250 goats were housed, was burnt down by the great fire. Fortunately, he managed to save them because he drove them in time to a safe area away from the fire.
Unfortunately, the barn was completely destroyed and now has to be rebuilt immediately. His goats are pregnant and already 21 of them have aborted. John, without money and facing serious financial difficulties, is unable to manage on his own.
He needs to build a new stable as soon as possible, so that the goats can give birth protected and under John's care. This goal is vital for the continuation of his professional activity, his stay in Volissos and the maintenance of his family.
The cost for the construction of the new stable (metal structure) is around 10,000€, and in addition a small amount is needed for water tanks, tires, feed, and storage space for keeping the feed, estimated at around 5,000€.
The state is failing and if we do not stand by him, the situation will become even more difficult and disastrous for him and his family.
We are all called upon to help in this effort. Any help, financial or practical, would be appreciated.
John will be grateful and thanks you in advance for your support.
Please contact him at 6949598951.
----------
Yannis Daoutis, born in 1979, is a farmer from a family of livestock farmers who has been active in the area of Amani Chios for over 40 years. He is a permanent resident of Volissos and has a young child of about 6 years old.
Yiannis needs us, and we in Volissos need Yiannis!
We will support Giannis, because he must remain here, in our village.
If his life and his professional activity is destroyed, he has no choice but to leave and look for a job in another area in order to be able to take care of his family.
