My name is Mišel Amo Ristov. In my everyday life, I wear many hats - a social worker, a rapper and a slam poet are just some of creative and professional fields people tend to find me in.

Last year, I took my words to the European Slam Poetry Championship in Berlin. I fought my way into the finals, securing a direct ticket to represent my country at the World Slam Poetry Championship in Durban, South Africa. This is the absolute peak of my artistic journey. This is my destiny. The competition will be held from 5th to 10th October 2026.

The Hurdle

We were operating under the impression that travel expenses would be covered by the organization. Unfortunately, the reality has shifted, and funding is completely unavailable; and so is securing the funds through our Ministry of Culture or Slovenian Embassy covering African countries. I refuse to let a financial barrier dictate my artistic ceiling. I have put my pride aside to ask for your community support.

I need to raise €2,000 to fund this self-funded cultural mission. Every single cent will go directly into the logistical mechanics of making this trip possible:

• Round-trip international flights to South Africa.
