Description
Forever Julius – A Chance at Recovery!
At just 15 months old, our son Julius received a diagnosis in July 2020 that changed our lives forever:cancer – a high-risk neuroblastoma. Unfortunately, it is a very aggressive form of cancer. In addition to the primary tumour on the adrenal gland, the cancer had already spread to the bone marrow and various bones, from the skull down to the legs.
Instead of a carefree childhood, countless hospital stays followed:
- 6 operations
- 8 courses of chemotherapy
- 1 course of high-dose chemotherapy with stem cell transplant
- 20 radiotherapy sessions
- 6 courses of immunotherapy.
His little body had to endure unimaginable hardships – but Julius fought on.And he made it!
After a year and a half of pain and hope, the welcome news arrived: remission. For almost two years, he was cancer-free, able to play again, laugh, and simply be a child.
But thencame the shock:in June 2024, shortly after his fourth birthday, the cancer returned – a dangerous recurrence in the sphenoid sinus in his head and thus also in the central nervous system.
Back to hospital:
- 1 major brain operation to remove the tumour
- 8 courses of chemotherapy
- 13 radiotherapy sessions
- (so far) 4 courses of immunotherapy
Since then, there has been no such thing as a normal day for Julius – but he is not giving up.He keeps fighting, every day.
Now there is a chance to support his fight:a personalised, tumour-specific vaccine therapyhere at a German biotechnology company in Tübingen.
This therapy is designed to help train his immune system to target the cancer. To do this, a personalised vaccine is produced from Julius’s own tumour cells. The aim: for his body to recognise and fight the cancer – and prevent a further relapse.
However, this therapy is not yet covered by standard health insurance. We have to bear the costs ourselves – an enormous financial burden at an already difficult time.
Please support Julius on his journey! Everycontribution helps to make this life-saving therapy possible. Every donation gives him a new chance.

What happens to the donations?
The donations will primarily be used for our child’s vital treatment, as well as associated costs such as travel expenses, accommodation during treatment and necessary medication. Every euro goes directly towards his recovery.
Should our child lose the battle against cancer or if the donations are not fully required, we have decided to pass the money on:
- Part of it will go to the Fördergesellschaft Kinderkrebs-Neuroblastom-Forschung e.V. to support research into this insidious disease.
- The other part will be donated directly to other affected families whose children also need financial help for their treatments.
