Received positive update from clinic. Poku has eaten and even had chance to pee by himself. There has been also improvement in his kidney function tests, still, the values are roughly double what they should be, though better than earlier. Tomorrow we have consultation about surgery.

About Poku
We are asking for help for our beloved cat, Poku. He is not just a pet, but a true family member and the heart of our home. Poku is a big, fluffy, long-haired cat who amazes everyone he meets. He is social, affectionate, and incredibly smart. He even knows how to sit and give his paw on command. Most of all, he is our cuddly companion who fills our days with love and joy.
Poku’s Story
Recently, Poku developed a bladder infection and was treated, but soon after, we noticed signs of incontinence. Tests showed bacteria in his urine, and despite several rounds of treatment, his condition worsened. When we took him back to the vet, his bladder was dangerously full, and attempts to place a catheter failed. In the middle of the night, we had to rush him two hours away to the nearest emergency animal hospital.
There, the vets discovered that Poku had suffered a rupture of the urethra near the bladder. Right now his bladder can only be drained through his abdomen, and because it was so overfilled, his kidneys have also been damaged and now require treatment. At the moment, he cannot empty his bladder on his own and urgently needs surgery to repair the urethra.
What Is Needed
For Poku to recover, he urgently needs surgery to repair his urethra near bladder. The cost of the surgery and several days of hospital care is estimated at up to €3,000. On top of this, the emergency visit and procedures have already cost us around €1,300.

Poku means the world to us. He brings love, joy, and comfort into our lives every single day. We are heartbroken to see him suffering and are doing everything we can to save him.
