Gris is only 6 years old. He was adopted, loved and has been part of our family every day. Unfortunately, his life has changed suddenly.

Following investigations and tests, Gris was diagnosed with FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis), a serious illness which, if left untreated, is almost always fatal. In Gris’s case, the disease manifests as fluid build-up in the abdomen, loss of appetite, lethargy and weakness.

The good news is that FIP can now be treated, but the treatment is very long and extremely expensive. Gris needs 84 days of daily treatment with GS-441524, and in addition to this, repeated blood tests, ultrasound scans, veterinary consultations and supportive medication are required to monitor his progress and aid his recovery.

The costs run into thousands of euros and include:

• daily treatment with GS-441524;
• repeated blood tests;
• ultrasound scans and veterinary consultations;
• supportive medication, infusions and other necessary treatments;
• specialised food and care throughout his recovery.

Unfortunately, all these costs are beyond our financial means in such a short space of time.
