Description
Hello, everyone!
My name is Eszter Palkovits, and I am a second-year film and television directing student at ELTE. With this fundraiser, I am attemptingto cover the costs of my exam film, even if only partially. Despite my wonderful teachers and the complex training programme, our university is unfortunately unable to provide any support for the production of exam films, so only a plethora of creative solutions and countless compromises can get us to the point of filming.
But what am I raising funds for?
Filming involves not only sweat and tears, but also real costs, which can be reduced through a great deal of goodwill and cooperation from friends and professionals, but not entirely.
- Equipment rental - camera, lighting and sound equipment
- On-site expenses - rent
- Transport - transport of crew, actors and equipment
- Catering – it is essential that we repay the many favours we receive in this way at least
- Other costs: props, equipment, costumes, etc.
Of course, there are many other things that may come up, and even more... :)

14 days of holiday - synopsis
Janka(22) andGergő(28)'s relationship turns into a battlefield on the first day of their holiday. An innocent, light-heartedrole-playcompletely turns them inside out: Janka, driven by a sudden idea, initiates a role-play: she will be the shamelessly flirtatioushitchhiker, Gergő the conqueringdriver who picks her up. They are both in on it. At the beginning of the film, the young couple, whom the viewer finds endearing, become increasingly unequal anddrift further and further apart.
Gradually, they fall under the spell of the game, and the experiment slowly takes on a life of its own: the roles they have taken on become blurred with their real selves, and they almostno longer recognise themselves.
During the course of events, which take place in just a few hours, the constant tension is created by alternating bouts ofjealousyand attempts to break out of their roles. Gergő becomes increasinglyangrywith the girl for how easily she slips into the role of the frivolous woman, while Janka thoroughly enjoys the exceptionalattention. The conversationdescends into vulgarity, with Janka becoming increasingly provocative. The viewer agrees sometimes with Janka, sometimes with Gergő, so in this evenly matched game, they don't know whose side to take. The romantic fiasco veers away from the original location and culminates in a rural guesthouse, where Gergő attacks Janka with questionable fervour.
They lose their way on the path to themselves, and it becomes unclearwhat they really needand want. Janka and Gergő are disappointed in each other, and even more so in themselves. It dawns on them that the characters they play aretheir true selves, without masks or contradictions.
Behind the initial cheerful tone of the 15-20 minute short film and the playfulness of the characters, a deep-seated drama and an inevitable, bitter realisation gradually emerge.
