As many of you will already be aware, Turkey now wants to start putting dogs down on a massive scale due to the sheer number of them. Thankfully, there are many who oppose this – particularly the major animal welfare organisations. Unfortunately, however, Erdogan wants to change things and is putting immense pressure on animal welfare campaigners by announcing that he intends to make good on his words. That is why it is now up to us; we must support the animal welfare organisations as best we can, both financially and by helping to find homes for the dogs. I myself will be on the ground from 5 September 2024 and will use my social media account to the best of my ability to reach out and support others on the ground and help find homes for the dogs.
