Description
Hi everyone :) !
I’ve been thinking for a long time about whether to post here. Unfortunately, life has shown us that we have to ask for help :(. In April 2020, my life was turned upside down. Hospital and diagnosis – acute kidney failure. Stage 5.
A stay in hospital in Koszalin, a COVID-19 infection, then transfer to Szczecin. There, a fight for my health and a three-month stay in hospital. Unfortunately, my kidneys couldn’t be saved. After returning home, a harsh reality check and an attempt to function and rebuild my life. Everything had to be adapted to dialysis, which was three times a week. I could forget about work. My wife had to give up her job to look after me and help me get by, as well as drive me to hospital.
Later came infections, such as sepsis. Another stay in hospital. Just when I thought things were more or less settling down, I ended up in hospital again, this time in the cardiology ward. There, I was diagnosed with congestive heart failure. Another blow. To sum up, I had hypertension affecting my heart and kidneys. In September, after more than three years, I was placed on the long-awaited transplant waiting list. Unfortunately, the waiting continued. My sister Paulina decided to donate a kidney. For which I am and will be immensely grateful to her ❤️ It’s October now and the operation is behind us. It worked! It was worth the wait.
Unfortunately, neither I nor my wife can work yet. Karina has to look after me. From the start, the Social Insurance Institution (ZUS) deemed me completely unfit for work and awarded me a disability pension of around 1,600 PLN, but that’s a drop in the ocean. I had a significant degree of disability issued by the Municipal Disability Assessment Team until November 2023, when they decided I could go back to work. So we appealed. Until May this year, Karina was receiving a care allowance of 2,988 PLN and we were just about managing. Since June, unfortunately, we’ve been on the disability pension alone. The case is currently in court, so everything has been put on hold except the pension. And unfortunately, things are getting harder and harder. We are forced to ask for help. The rent alone costs over 2,000 PLN. On top of that, there are immunosuppressants and medication for high blood pressure. Trips to Szczecin for medical tests. It all costs money. And we have to live. The case may remain in court for several more months. So we are begging for help. We will be very grateful and happy for any help!
Thank you! ❤️❤️
