Men's Exploitation and Abuse of Prostitutes

Prostitution is ugly. Customers treat prostitutes like insensate sex toys. Certain customers commit some of society's most vile crimes through their abuse of prostitutes. Pimps

dominate prostitutes by means of psychological and physical assault. Police also physically and sexually attack prostitutes.

Many other men exploit prostitutes economically....

According to a Hamburg study, 83% of the prostitutes surveyed experienced trauma in their early childhood, 48% of whom had been sexually abused. Such experiences affect the self-confidence of the victims. "I had no respect for myself," Sandra says.

"I'm not trying to be sensational, but I'm trying to underscore the fact this is a world that has lost innocence ... where dark forces are active," he told the conference. "These are problems caused by poverty and equality, but it goes well beyond that."

Studzinski cited egregious cases of trafficking and slavery, including the story of a woman forced to have sex with 10 men at the same time, Reuters reported.

Getting into prostitution is much easier than getting out of it. In order to be able to take up regular work, they need a secure flat. However, many of those affected live with friends or at their place of work in the brothel and cannot provide a registered address that would allow them to receive benefits from the authorities.

We humbly come today in front of you and plead for help for these women in Romania. Once they get out of this miserable life they need a roof over their heads, food in their bellies and support in many more ways: we aim at providing psychological support - myself being a psychologist, sexual and addictions counselling, education and perhaps most importantly: WE NEED TO HELP THEM GET A DIGNIFIED WAY OF EARNING A LIVING.
