Our dear Klara has been diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer and she needs our help. The medical team has said that despite the aggressive tumour, the cancer is curable with chemotherapy, surgery, and targeted therapy. She left Bali with only a backpack as this was not in her plans, and has been navigating this with support of only a few close friends and family. We are crossing our fingers (and toes!) for this beautiful woman.

If you know Klara, you know that she has a big heart and will jump at the chance to help anyone in need. She is always giving, always smiling, always ready to drop everything and go out of her way to lend a hand. Now it is our turn to help her. While most of her community remains in Bali, we know she has friends all over the world, and together we can support her through this journey.

Klara is currently receiving treatment in the Czech Republic and due to the side effects of the chemotherapy she is unable to work and create her own income. She is currently staying in a family home 2 hours outside Prague and is unable to make it to her appointments on her own as she is exhausted and sick from the chemotherapy. Some days she is too tired to leave the house, and the closest grocery store is a 40 minute walk away. There is a bus that comes once an hour, but this is not a safe mode of travel due to her suppressed immune system - even a common cold could end her up in the hospital. She has been trying not to ask for help but the isolation from family and friends combined with the travel time to go anywhere is affecting her. She needs our support to move closer to the hospital while she is undergoing treatment over the next 6-8 months and beyond.

We have budgeted 1650 EUR per month for accommodation, utilities, food, medicine, transportation to the appointments, and psychology support. We anticipate that she will need to stay close to the hospital for about one year, which brings the total to 19,800 EUR. In the case that the money is not needed, it will be donated to a Czech cancer charity of Klara's choice.

We would like to thank everyone who contributes to this fundraiser for Klara. She is without the majority of her community in Prague but we can show her how much we love her by helping her in this way. No amount is too small- she will appreciate all of it. We will provide ongoing updates regarding her treatment and when we find her some more convenient housing.
