Supporting School in the Mamarongo Indigenous Settlement for Children of the Kogi Tribe
I’m excited to share a project that’s very close to my heart—helping support the education of children from the Kogi tribe.
In the photos below, you’ll see the children of Mamarongo, a village I had the privilege of visiting during my research a few years ago. Their school is in urgent need of help, especially with construction materials, essential learning supplies, and the reconstruction of the school kitchen. Our goal is to support around 100 students by improving the school’s infrastructure, providing the necessary materials for learning, and rebuilding the kitchen to ensure the children have proper meals during the school day.
Who are the Kogi Tribe?
The Kogi tribe is an indigenous group from the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta mountains in Colombia. They live in remote villages, following ancient traditions and spiritual practices. The Kogi consider themselves the "Elder Brothers," entrusted with keeping the world in balance. Their farming methods are sustainable, with crops like coffee, corn, and coca passed down through generations. As stewards of nature, the Kogi are committed to protecting the environment from harm.
How Can You Help?
Your support, no matter the amount, will make a meaningful impact. With your help, we can improve the school for Kogi children, providing them with a safer, better-equipped space to learn, and ensuring they have access to nutritious meals through a fully functional kitchen. Let’s work together to build a brighter future for these children and their community!
Thank you for your generosity and support. I’ll keep you updated on our progress and let you know how your contributions are making a difference.
