Dear Animal Lovers,

the situation for animals in Croatia is still not good. Many people still refuse to spay or neuter their pets; dogs and cats are constantly abandoned, and many people don’t want to pay for veterinary care. This particular cat had an owner, but she didn’t care for her properly, and even though she knew the cat was unwell, she never took her to the vet.

So, we are reaching out for your support to help save Fluffy, a gentle one-year-old cat from Šibenik, Croatia, who has faced many challenges in her short life. After being abandoned by her owner, Fluffy was found by a kind neighbor, wandering alone and unwell. At first, we thought she might be pregnant due to her swollen abdomen, but an ultrasound soon revealed a different and heartbreaking truth—her belly was filled with fluid. Fluffy was diagnosed with Feline Infectious Peritonitis (FIP), a serious and life-threatening disease. Fluffy is now safe with her neighbor, but she needs help.

The only hope for Fluffy lies in a specific treatment with GS-441524, a medication that has shown great promise for FIP but is not yet approved in Croatia. This means we have to import the medication from abroad, making it even more costly. Her treatment will require minimum 84 days of continuous care, with expenses expected to reach around €900-an amount that is difficult to cover alone.

We are determined to give Fluffy the chance she deserves, but we need your help.
