My name is Robert Dymkowski, also known as "Dymek," and I have been diagnosed with ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis), a progressive neurodegenerative disease that leads to muscle weakness, atrophy, and ultimately affects breathing, mobility, and can be fatal. Unfortunately, there is currently no cure for this condition.

I am reaching out to raise funds for rehabilitation, treatment, and overall improvement in the quality of my life. Rehabilitation helps me function efficiently, while treatment aims to slow down the disease's progression and its effects. Improving my quality of life allows me to adapt and continue to contribute in a freelance capacity.

The funds raised in this campaign will be utilized for various aspects, including rehabilitation benefits, as well as for future needs like municipal pensions and public assistance (energy beds, disability pensions, standers, etc.). Additionally, there are drug therapies available worldwide that can help slow down the disease's progression, but regrettably, they come with substantial costs.

Adapting to my new reality as a person with a significant disability has been challenging. A few months ago, I could hardly imagine the extent of its impact on my life. The loss of strength in my hands and the spontaneous muscle atrophy have deprived me of the ability to care for myself, which is particularly difficult given my active life dedicated to sports, including football as a player, coach, and activist.

Despite the adversity, I am determined to face these challenges head-on, and I am committed to maintaining the longest possible efficiency of my body.
