Full diabetes management app with over 60000 food items
Description
We’re a small team of people living with type 1 diabetes, and we know exactly how challenging it is to manage it day in and day out. Balancing insulin, food, exercise, and mental health isn’t easy — and without proper tools, it can quickly become overwhelming.
That’s why we built Diabase — an all-in-one diabetes management app designed to make life simpler and safer. Diabase helps calculate insulin doses, track workouts, monitor your mental state, and manage insulin on board (IOB), all powered by a custom-trained AI model that provides personalized, accurate guidance to help maintain a healthy balance.
One of the key features of Diabase is our extensive food database with over 60,000 items, helping users log meals quickly and accurately. We’ve also implemented AI-based food recognition — just take a photo of your meal and the app will identify the food and estimate its nutritional value in seconds.
Our next big step is launching Diabase globally, and for that, we’re finalizing a massive international food database of over 200,000 food items, so users around the world can benefit from precise and localized tracking.
We’ve already launched in beta, with over 200 active users, and we’re proud to say that Diabase is already helping people manage their diabetes more effectively. We’ve self-funded everything so far, but as most of us are now working full-time on this project, we’re looking for support to help us finish and officially launch Diabase on the App Store and Google Play.
You can learn more and test the app at diabase.ro — the website is currently in Romanian, but an English version is coming very soon. There, you can also try ClinicDash, our companion app that allows family members, friends, or doctors to monitor the user’s real-time progress and evolution.
We’re actively looking for partners and backers who share our mission. If you believe in making life easier, healthier, and safer for people with diabetes — we’d love to have you on this journey with us.
