On February 20, 2010, I lost my home to a landslide. I was at home when the morning rain caused a mudslide that took everything away. I watched as the house my grandparents had built with so much effort was destroyed by the earth. Since then, we were relocated to a rented house, but to this day, we have not received any support from the government. Despite the large sums of money allocated to the island of Madeira, no financial assistance has been provided for the reconstruction of my home.

I am writing to you today because I have given up on receiving help from the Madeiran government. I am on my own and do not have the income to rebuild my house, nor can I afford rent. My salary is only €700, and the cheapest rent I can find is around €1000.

I kindly ask for your support in raising funds to rebuild the house my grandparents worked so hard to create.
