UPDATE AND GOOD NEWS!
I have collected the first instalment of funds to purchase 106 boxes of blood glucose test strips. This initial payment amounts to €1,365. My friend H. took care of checking that they were in working order and that everything was in order. And so it was. Upon receiving the money, first thing the following morning, H. organised the distribution to the families in the camp. They cannot thank you enough. The second instalment was €1,184.80 plus a donation from me and €3.99 in Western Union fees, making a total of €1,303.99, which was transferred this time not via my card but by bank transfer (my credit limit wouldn’t allow it). This sum covered both insulin pens and new blood glucose monitoring devices. And this is WONDERFUL news! H. did a brilliant job, despite the dangers and constraints, in sourcing the supplies. As you can also see from the photos, a second distribution of these supplies has been organised.

Description
The children in a refugee camp need our help. For security reasons, I cannot share any further details, so the only thing you can do is trust me. Forty children have diabetes and have run out of test strips for the devices used to monitor their blood sugar levels. Unfortunately, the only solution at the moment is to buy them locally because, although they cost more, it is the only way to be sure of getting hold of them quickly. I will update you on this fundraising campaign once the necessary amount has been reached.
We need 80 boxes for one month, 2 for each boy and girl.
The monthly cost is around €1,500 (including the fees charged by Western Union for the transaction).
Let’s try to be optimistic and raise enough to cover three months of aid.
