My name is Attila Turba, and I am the author of the book series *Green-Eared Manócska and Friends*.

Until I was fifty, writing was just a dream. I had cherished the idea for a very long time that one day I would write, when an illness ‘confined’ me to bed and I could do nothing else but write. I reassessed my priorities and understood the message my body was sending me. First, I set about writing down the stories I had been telling my children every evening for 15 years during our sacred bedtime cuddle time. We shaped and lived the stories together, and such a strong bond formed between me and the stories that, even years later, I had no trouble writing them down.

My eldest child, who has since grown up and is, incidentally, a talented painter, was delighted to take on the task of illustrating the books. Annus has created a truly unique visual world for the stories. This is also a collaborative work, because the illustrations draw on the memories and those warm feelings that emerge from the intimate bond between children and parents during shared storytelling sessions.

I took on a huge challenge and, together with a friend, founded a publishing house, through which we have already managed to launch the first volume, and which, judging by the feedback, has found its way into the hearts of children and parents alike. We would now like to publish the second instalment. To do this, we are seeking community support, primarily from those who are looking forward to the sequel, but also from anyone who is moved by our story.
