Description
Project Title:
Plasma-Hybrid Emission Control: Euro 7 Standard for Legacy Diesel Engines
Short Summary:
"I am developing an innovative exhaust aftertreatment system that combines Non-Thermal Plasma technology with a specialized high-pressure (25-60 bar) gas-absorption cooling process. My goal is to build a prototype that proves legacy diesel engines can meet modern environmental standards without being scrapped."
The Story:
1. The Technological Breakthrough:
The heart of the system is a high-frequency plasma zone that disintegrates soot and hydrocarbons at a molecular level. This technology is significantly more efficient than traditional filters.

2. Chemical Stabilization:
Following the plasma stage, a high-pressure, CO2-enriched medium is injected. This process achieves two critical goals:
- Thermal Control: It drastically reduces gas temperature, preventing the reformation of harmful Nitrogen Oxides (NOx).
- Isolation: The introduced CO2 acts as a protective shield, displacing atmospheric nitrogen from the reaction.

3. Implementation:
The prototype is based on a factory CNG-equipped vehicle (Fiat Multipla), which provides the necessary high-pressure storage capacity for the treatment medium.
What the Funds Will Cover:
- Donor Vehicle: Acquiring a Fiat Multipla CNG to provide the mechanical and high-pressure foundation.
- Reaction Chamber:Manufacturing a custom, acid-resistant stainless steel (AISI 316L) unit to withstand plasma and high pressure.
- Control Systems: Integrating the high-frequency pulse generator and precision injection nozzles.
