I’m Maria and 2025 has not been my year year, but I’m hoping your help can flip it.

After a 2024, filled with unwavering tiredness, fainting, and some other symptoms, an immense amount of exams and doctors appointments, Iwas finally hospitalized and able to get some answers.

I was diagnosed with narcolepsy type 1, a chronic neurological disorder which gives me excessive daytime sleepiness, cataplexy (something like a body paralysis but fully conscious), unregulated sleep cycles and an overall excessive sense of exhaustion.

Aside from that I also has a vascular condition that makes me faint every so often.

Unfortunately this has condition has currently made me unable to work, drive or go anywhere alone as I can’t stay up long enough to do so safely.

The lack of income, alongside the medical bills and procedures, have weighed heavily financially. Fortunately I’ve been having some help from family, yet it’s been a burden.

I’m eager to go back to work and live as soon as possible, however that day may still take some time to come, as I just started a new treatment (making me the first in the country to take it, and the doctors inexperienced in it).

Hopefully, with your help, I can focus on managing my symptoms and getting some part of my life back, without the added financial weight.
