The Pian dei Ciliegi Association was founded in 1996 to run a Theravada Buddhist centre and organise meditation retreats. Located in Bulla di Monte Santo, Ponte dell'Olio (Piacenza), in a hilly area at the foot of the Tuscan-Emilian Apennines, amidst oak and chestnut woods, in an environment extremely conducive to the practice of meditation, the Centre hosts intensive residential retreats in Satipaṭṭhāna Vipassanā and Mettā meditation, for the development of mindfulness, loving-kindness and wisdom.

Over the last thirty years, experienced teachers and monks from Italy and around the world have been invited to guide thousands of people on their path of inner growth and in the development of the profound insight that sets us free. So far, we have been able to do all this thanks to the generosity of those who have hosted us in the premises, but we now face a decisive step for the Centre’s future: the opportunity has arisen to purchase the building where we practise together. This place is more than just a building: it is a place of peace and welcome, a home to support personal self-development, and a space that has supported generations of practitioners. 

Purchasing the building will provide us with a solid and lasting foundation for the cultivation of the heart, which has already benefited many and which can continue to do so for future generations, thanks to the stability and continuity of our projects.

For this reason, we ask those who are able to support us in this important step, so that we may continue to support those who wish to develop their personal and spiritual growth through the practice of Vipassanā meditation.
