Description
Sérgio Queirós was born in 2006 and is from Gondomar, but currently lives in Caldas da Rainha. He had his first musical contact with the classical guitar at the age of 6, which he learnt from his father.
At the age of 9, he began his formal study of music, but in Portuguese guitar, when he joined the articulated teaching programme at the Alcobaça Music Academy, with teacher Luís Marques (2016 - 2019) and Ricardo Gordo (2019 - 2021). In 2021, he joined the professional string instrumentalist course at the Costa Cabral Academy of Music (AMCC) with teacher Tiago da Neta (2021 - 2022) and later with teacher Pedro Pinto (2022), with whom he is currently finishing his 12th year.
As a student at AMCC, he played solo guitar on the stage of the Paranhos Parish Council and at the Paranhos House of Culture. As part of the guitar orchestra, he has performed on stages such as Paranhos Parish Council, FEUP Auditorium, Casa da Música and Antas Church. As a member of the AMCC choir, he performed on stages such as Casa da Música, FEUP Auditorium, Lapa Church and Antas Church.
During this time, he had the opportunity to perfect his knowledge with renowned guitarists such as those already mentioned and Professor Paulo Soares, with whom he held some masterclasses.
In 2022, he took part in the Portuguese Guitar and Accordion competition in Santarém (at the conservatoire, at the academy, what association or organisation developed the project? He came first in that competition.
This year he joined the ESART faculty in Castelo Branco and has shown an interest in incorporating the Portuguese guitar into other musical styles other than fado, such as hip hop and RnB.
