Hello, I’m Koushick Sugumar Nandhakumar, a mechanical engineer with a Master’s degree from TUKE. I’m originally from India, where I’ve experienced firsthand how intense heat can affect everyday life. In response to rising temperatures and climate change, I began researching solutions to combat heat naturally—without relying on energy-consuming air conditioning systems.

In 2022, I started developing a cool roof tile that reflects heat and reduces indoor temperatures significantly. I formulated a unique blend using roof concrete fiber and SBR latex chemicals, achieving 99.9% heat reflection. After rigorous testing and consistent effort—even while completing my Master’s—I developed a prototype that was 100% successful in performance.

I launched a small-scale production unit in my hometown, and it’s already showing great results. However, I want to expand this innovation to the Middle East, where extreme heat is a serious challenge. Exporting tiles directly is difficult and costly, so I plan to establish a local branch in Arab countries to manufacture and distribute these tiles efficiently.

This project is not about profit—it’s about sustainability, public health, and reducing energy dependence. Air conditioners contribute to higher electricity bills and environmental damage. My cool roof tiles offer a natural, eco-friendly alternative that helps people stay cool and reduces the urban heat island effect.
