Reviving a legend: the BMW E39 with the M51 engine

Hello! My name is Ondrej and I am a classic car enthusiast, especially those that still had honest technology, character and soul. One of these cars is my BMW E39 with the iconic M51 inline-six - a classic turbo-diesel that is hardly seen anymore.

The car still runs and serves, but it shows its age and mileage. It's time for a thorough maintenance and revival to keep it not only in service, but as a fully-fledged representative of a time when cars still meant something.

Why is this important to me?

The E39 with the M51 engine is the last generation of mechanically honest Bavarians - a simple, powerful, reliable machine without unnecessary electronics. I don't want to see it fall into disrepair due to neglected maintenance or financial constraints. I want to keep it running, even for rallies, shows, or just as a reminder of how a car should feel to the driver.

What will the funds be used for?

I will use the money for:

• chassis refurbishment (pins, shock absorbers, silentblocks)
• new brakes and fuel system maintenance
• replacement of defective parts (pipes, hoses, electrics)
• MOT, service parts and basic care of the interior and exterior
