The Gurtum Foundation comes to the aid of civilians affected by Russian attacks in Kyiv

You wake up, not to an alarm clock, but to an explosion. You fall out of bed as plaster crumbles from the ceiling. The windows – shattered into pieces on the floor. You’re alive. At the door – neighbours with bloodied faces, children who lost their shoes in the panic. You are not at the front. The front has come to you.

The Gurtum Foundation works tirelessly on the ground – where the strikes never stop and the need for support grows with every passing day.

For the third year running, our team in Kyiv has been welcoming volunteers from all over the world who are joining our efforts to clear and restore damaged buildings immediately after bombings and to provide support to the civilian population following Russia’s massive attacks on the city.

🔧 How do we help?

🏚 Clearing and securing residential areas

• After every attack, our volunteers and specialists enter the danger zones to clear debris, restore access to homes and rescue the personal belongings and documents of those affected.
• We provide protective clothing and tools, and coordinate the teams.
• We purchase the building materials needed to secure damaged homes and preserve them until the owners can organise repairs.

🛠 Restoration of public spaces

• We help repair kindergartens, schools and public buildings affected by attacks or blast waves. We work side by side with communities and volunteers from numerous organisations in Kyiv.

💛 But to keep going – we need you.

Donations allow us to be where the state cannot reach in time. With every donation , you are with us – in the rubble, on the gloomy mornings when we go to assess the damage on the ground, in the tears and in the hope.
