Description
Support the 2nd Independent Palestinian Film Festival
Welcome to the 2nd edition of the 2nd edition of the Independent Palestinian Film Festival, a unique cultural beacon that illuminates the complex narratives of Palestine.
The Festival takes place
in Agios Nikolaos, Chania and Limassol
on 13, 14 and 15 June
This is a unique and deeply coordinated effort, bringing together three cities working collectively to ensure that Palestinians' stories are heard and their struggle for justice is recognised. The Limassol group, the "Agios Nikolaos Anti-Racist Festival Group", the "Social Shelter for Immigrants of Chania" and the "Solidarity Initiative for Resisting Palestine" are working together to bring this festival to life, which will take place on the same dates and at the same time, at the Christina Cinema in Agios Nikolaos, at the Cultural Centre of Chania and at its headquarters in Limassol, Cyprus. At the core of this event is our ambition to bring to the fore the multifaceted realities experienced in Gaza, the West Bank and the Occupied Territories in 1948.
It is with deep sadness that we are organizing this festival for the second time under painful circumstances. We had hoped that this year's event would take place in a liberated Gaza, where its people would be safe, free and rebuilding their homeland. Instead, we continue to witness the relentless assault on Palestinians in Gaza, the West Bank and throughout the region, including Syria, Lebanon and historic Palestine ('48).
However, it is precisely because of these realities that we are even more determined to reserve space for Palestinian film, art and storytelling. This festival is not just a film screening - it is an act of resistance, memory and solidarity. We remain committed to raising the voices of Palestinians, shedding light on their struggles and demanding justice.
As always, PIFF is completely independent and non-profit with the main goal of ensuring that Palestinian voices reach as many audiences as possible, without exclusion - especially for those with fewer resources. We believe that art and film are for the masses and should be accessible to all.
If you believe in this artistic work as much as we do, we invite you to donate the amount of your choice to support the cost of organizing this event, which we believe has a meaningful impact and opens everyone's horizons.
