Who we are helping

I am setting up this fundraiser for my girlfriend, Světlana Holubová, with whom I live, and who has been bravely battling a serious illness for more than two years.

Světlana must undergo demanding treatment for thyroid cancer and several operations.

Due to health complications, she is unable to work, and the financial support she has relied on so far is coming to an end. She will be left without an income, which is why we are reaching out to anyone who would like to help her get through this difficult time.

Světlana’s story – a journey that has not been easy

In 2023, Světlana was diagnosed with an underactive thyroid and inflammation. She started taking medication, but her neck continued to swell and a lump formed. The first operation was not entirely successful.

In 2024, she had to undergo another procedure, during which her thyroid gland was also removed. Treatment for her thyroid continued; a histology test revealed that it was a medial cervical cyst.

Shortly afterwards came another blow – abdominal surgery, during which doctors discovered a tumour.

In April 2025, we found out that Světlana was pregnant. It was a time of hope and anticipation. We believed that everything would finally be alright and that we would be happy as a family.

Unfortunately, at 20 weeks, the doctors told us that our baby had a fatal birth defect, and the pregnancy had to be terminated. We had to go through a birth without a happy ending, which affected us both deeply.

Just three months after this tragedy, more difficult news arrived: a diagnosis of thyroid cancer, requiring further surgery – possibly in two stages. Any procedure involving the neck is mentally and physically demanding. As this is the third such procedure, the risks are much higher.

Světlana is fighting the disease with incredible courage, but the demanding operations, long-term treatment and loss of income are leaving us with great uncertainty and fears for our future.

What the money will be used for

The funds raised will help us cover:

• rent and utilities, so that Světlana has a roof over her head
• food and basic necessities
• medicines, co-payments and medical aids
• transport to appointments, operations and check-ups
• the recovery period, during which she will have no income

The aim of the fundraising campaign is not to provide luxury, but to ensure a dignified life during her illness and to at least somewhat ease the worries that the illness brings.
