Hello. I’m writing to you with a request. I know things are tough here and elsewhere, but I’ll still try anything for my children, even though I’m ashamed. Please don’t turn me away just because I’m asking for help.🙏

My story. I am a mother of two children, aged 8 and 3. Four years ago, my husband left us, saying he was going to work in Germany so that we would be better off financially and could buy a house where we could live happily with our children.Unfortunately, that’s not how it turned out.😔 He deceived me and my children too.😭 Because he is in Germany, they stopped my child benefit and also the child allowance for both children, saying that as my husband is working in Germany, he must sort it out there. Of course, he didn’t do that, and I, as a mother in Slovakia, was left without any income.I lived with the children solely on what my husband sent occasionally – €30, €40, €50, €100 – and on what I sold at home that I knew how to sell😔Well, we somehow managed to get by like that for a few months.Then I said this couldn’t go on any longer. He’s in Germany and I’m at home with two children, struggling because I can’t pay for anything properly. And all that was left were debt collectors and such.So last year in February I kicked him out when he came home from Germany in January with no money and sat at home for a whole month. And I asked him why he wasn’t going back to work. He said he was waiting for them to send him money.Obviously, that wasn’t true; he sat around waiting every day, not caring that the children had nothing to eat. So I kicked him out.I started sorting out the parental benefits and child allowance so they’d pay me from Slovakia, as my husband wasn’t paying and hadn’t sorted anything out in Germany.Of course, the authorities started looking into it, but the only thing I managed to sort out was that they eventually paid me a few months’ back date for parental allowance in Slovakia, just because apparently he didn’t have a job in Germany.So he was lying. As soon as I received a few euros, I filed for divorce and paid off the debts.The court hearing is on 28 May 2026. In the meantime, I’ve also managed to sort out child benefit in Slovakia because he lied about having a job in Germany – they couldn’t find him in the system.So they paid me €1,400 in back child benefit, but unfortunately in the meantime I found out that he hadn’t paid the rent for the flat where we live for eight years and that he’d told the landlord not to come to see me, not to talk to me, because I’m mentally ill. So the landlord didn’t even come. And I was calm because he wasn’t coming – everything was fine, everything was paid for, and so on. But when I kicked my husband out, of course I rang the landlord to say my husband wasn’t here anymore and I wanted to speak to him.He came, and that’s how I found out that my husband had been lying about everything. He hadn’t been paying the rent, and he’d even portrayed me to the landlord as mentally ill, even though I’m raising two small children on my own.So the back-pay I received for a few months had to be given to the landlord so he wouldn’t evict us. And now I have to pay the rent, plus the back rent, so that my children and I don’t end up without a roof over our heads.And on top of that, there’s school and, from September, nursery, and everything else.😔 And all this on an income of €120, the benefit I’ll be receiving until I’m no longer eligible. 😭 I’m desperate; I don’t know how to start over. I’m completely on my own with the children, with no parents to turn to.I’m just asking you from the bottom of my heart: if you could help with even €1 so that my two children and I don’t end up homeless, I would be truly grateful.Please, I beg you, do not turn me away; I am just a desperate mother who does not know what to do next and lives only for her children, doing everything she can.
