Description
Hello everyone! We are a group of film students from the Warsaw Film Academy working on our latest graduation film, Grandpa's Skins. It's a story about a little boy and his grandfather and we need your support to make this film a reality!
About the film:
"Grandpa's Skins" is a short film that tells the story of Gabo, a 6-year-old boy and his grandfather Ivan, who has dementia. With the tradition of the Kukeri - where men wear huge fur suits to ward off evil forces - Gabo tries to bring back the memories of his grandfather and their relationship.
The film touches on themes of family, tradition and the strong bond between generations, even as they face the loss of memories.
Why we need your help:
Although we have provided free locations and some of the equipment needed, there are still basic costs we need to cover:
- Costumes and set design: we want to create authentic Kuker costumes and recreate the right atmosphere.
- Food and transport: we need to provide food for our crew and actors, as well as transport to our beautiful natural surroundings.
- Equipment Hire: Professional cameras, lighting and sound are needed to achieve the quality we are looking for.
- Post Production: Editing, sound design and visual effects are key to achieving the finished look of the film.
- Festival Fees: Festival participation is not free, and your donations will help us show Grandpa's Skins to a wider international audience.
How you can help:
Any donation, large or small, will help us make this project happen. As a thank you, everyone who donates will be acknowledged in a "Special Thanks" at the end of the film.
You can also support us by spreading the word! If you can't donate, sharing our campaign with your friends, family or on social media will help us reach more people.
Why this film is important:
"Grandpa's Skins is more than a student film. It's a story about family, memories and how traditions help us connect with the people we love. Many of us have experienced aging and loss of memories in our family, and this film reflects that emotional journey.
This is our last major project before graduation, and we are excited to share it with you. With your help, we can make this story a reality! Thank you!
