As a father, my children are my greatest treasure. Seeing them happy, playing, and full of life is the spark I need each day to energize my mood and push for better days ahead. I believe this is true for other parents like me. In third-world countries, little or no resources are invested in supporting child development away from the traditional school classrooms and health centers. Many children, especially those from poor families who live in rural places like Kenya, grow up without ever learning or interacting with simple playgrounds meant to improve and develop their motor skills, creativity, and physical development. In fact, in many homes, all that children can do, after school hours is watch tv or simply sit at home to eat and sleep. This situation worries me, and after my experience living in Finland the last nine years, I have chosen to use my experience to influence the way our children in the locality where I live should grow exposed to specially designed parks that enhance their creativity, motor skills and physical development. It is for this reason why I call on all well wishers, children lovers and everyone of goodwill, to support my cause to build the first ever children's park within Rongo District, Migori county in the western Kenya region.
