Hi, my name is Ruxandra, and I’ve spent half my life pursuing a dream that has been the heartbeat of my creative journey: LUDIQUE. This isn’t just an underclothing brand—it’s a vision that I’ve poured my soul into, working tirelessly for years, often without holidays, weekends, or the luxury of a common break.
For independent creatives like myself, this kind of dedication isn’t uncommon. Behind every piece of LUDIQUE design is an untold story of late nights, personal sacrifices, and a relentless commitment to building something meaningful for the world. Unfortunately, the polished exterior of the brand rarely reveals the immense effort behind it.
A Dream Sewn from Scratch
From a young age, I’ve been driven by creativity, teaching myself design with the hope of empowering women with confidence through my creative work. LUDIQUE started humbly in my parent's bedroom with nothing more than a sewing machine and a big dream. When I officially launched the brand in 2011, I had no budget—only a vision to create something extraordinary.
Every piece I designed, sewed and sold was reinvested back into my work. Slowly but surely, through small, determined steps, I began earning recognition in the international lingerie industry. Inspired by mythology and art, my designs have brought confidence and self-love to countless women—a purpose that drives my brand with unwavering determination every day.
The Struggles of an Independent Creator
Building LUDIQUE as a one-woman operation has been as rewarding as it has been challenging. I have taken on many different roles as: designing, manufacturing, marketing, sales, managing suppliers and factories, and overseeing every social media post and photoshoot. But as much as I’ve accomplished, the lack of a team and financial resources has meant missed opportunities and mounting challenges.
Despite being based in Romania, a small country with few local lingerie brands and limited resources, LUDIQUE has earned a place in reputable international stores like Journelle in the USA, Coco de Mer in the UK, Pleasurements in the Netherlands, and Brigade Mondaine in France. I’ve also expanded the brand to include loungewear and nightwear while staying true to its creative identity.
But the journey hasn’t been easy at all and ‘the dream’ was shattered again. Years of managing every aspect alone led me to burnout, and with global challenges like the pandemic, inflation, and nearby wars in Europe, keeping LUDIQUE alive has become increasingly difficult. The main issue is that an independent brand cannot maintain continuity and retain the mentioned stockists without sufficient capital and continuous investment in new collections and the development of creative work.
Why I’m Turning to You
Asking for help isn’t easy, especially in a local culture where it can feel embarrassing. But today, I’m reaching out because LUDIQUE’s future depends on it. I, as a human being and also as a professional, am depending on it. This crowdfunding campaign is my last hope to keep the dream alive.
