Description
My name is David, i 'm 58 years old, I live in Sopron with my wife and 12 year old son.
Our wonderful and perfect life was completely turned upside down in July 2024, when I was diagnosed with an aggressive brain tumour after a stroke, the histological result of which confirmed that it is a brain tumour called Glioblastoma, which unfortunately has poor survival chances.
After the initial tests, it was found to be in a well operable location, which led us to decide immediately to operate.
We therefore had high hopes that, despite the extremely poor prospects, a cure might be possible.
Unfortunately, the tumour recurred very quickly and a second operation was necessary.
Conventional therapies in the form of radiotherapy and chemotherapy were then started.
Unfortunately, in October, it became clear that the therapies were not successful and the tumour started to grow again.
As an alternative treatment, a self-care option in Germany was considered, with very promising results. Patients' lives can be extended by years with the help of a personalised vaccine.
The cost of the therapy is €70,000, an extremely high sum.
We are not able to raise this from our own resources, so we are trying to find sponsors to participate in the treatment.
To this end, we would like to start a fundraising campaign to raise the necessary amount.
If you are able to support me, please help me to raise my little boy and help me survive this aggressive disease.
The treatment will be achieved by developing a personalized vaccine, the description of which can be found in English here: https://www.nature.com/articles/s41467-024-51315-8
Fundraising
On the donation page, we would like to collect donations in Euros so that the exchange rate does not affect the amount collected.
The donation page will offer some amounts, but you can also provide your own individual donation amount. In all cases, the donor's bank will calculate the exchange rate at the time of transfer, which will not significantly increase the amount of the donation.
Management procedures and costs:
The first task is the analysis of a tumour tissue sample, which costs €30,000
The first step is the analysis of the tumour tissue, followed within two months after the analysis by the development and production of a customised vaccine at a cost of €40,000.
The vaccine will be administered four times in the first week and then monthly thereafter, and its effectiveness will be monitored using an immunomonitor.
The further schedule of vaccine treatment depends on the immune response, but the patient should receive it continuously thereafter.
Thank you for reading through and supporting my chance at life, if only in the smallest amount.
