Description
We are the Wipfelretter – the squirrel rescue service from Deich – and we step in where wild animals are often overlooked.
Squirrels are increasingly finding themselves in distress:
due to traffic, tree felling, storms, mowing or lost habitats.
Injured or orphaned young animals would have little chance of survival without help.
Our small volunteer-run rearing centre supports wildlife conservation.
We take in squirrels, care for them professionally, nurse them back to health and – where possible – prepare them for release into the wild.
👉 We work on a voluntary basis, privately and on a non-profit basis.
👉 The centre is currently under development.
👉 All donations are voluntary and are not tax-deductible.
Nevertheless, there are ongoing costs – and this is exactly where we need your support.
