In that moment, my world came crashing down. I asked myself: “Why me? What have I done wrong in my life, or who have I hurt so badly?” But there is no answer to that! Cancer doesn’t choose. In that moment, I realised the true value of life, how every moment is important and precious. A year has passed, a year full of pain and a struggle to survive. I can’t help but fight so that Maxie sees that his dad is a hero and doesn’t give up. It breaks my heart that, at his tender age, he sees me like this every day, that I can’t be a role model and a support for him. I don’t want him to remember me as someone who suffers and gives up. For a year I didn’t ask for help and kept it a secret; I was ashamed to ask for money for treatment. Right now I’m in hospital and I’m writing this story to ask for help in winning this difficult battle. I’m waiting for treatment in Germany; I’ve already had a consultation, but unfortunately it’s very expensive. I’ve already lost everything after a year of illness, due to the cost of treatment. I am therefore asking for your help; I don’t have much time, but thanks to you I have the chance to prolong my life. I thank you for your help and appreciate it from the bottom of my heart.
