Hello,

My name is Sandra, and together with my boyfriend Filip, we would like to share the story of our beloved cat, Oliver.

We adopted Oliver from a rescue shelter two years ago. Shortly afterward, we learned that he had FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis), a serious viral disease that, until recently, was considered almost always fatal. The only hope was treatment with GS-441524, a medication that is still not widely available in many European Union countries and is extremely expensive.

Thanks to the support of people from the rescue shelter, we were able to obtain this treatment. Oliver bravely endured daily injections for many months and fought the disease with all his strength. Despite his incredible determination, his condition gradually worsened. He suffered from chronic vomiting, digestive problems, and inflammatory granulomas began to develop in his stomach and intestines.

During his final examination, our veterinarian discovered two masses near his stomach that prevented him from eating normally. Surgery carried a very poor prognosis and would not have cured the underlying disease. After careful consultation with our veterinarian, we made the hardest decision of our lives - to let Oliver go peacefully, without any more pain or suffering.

Oliver was the most affectionate cat we could ever have wished for. He loved every cuddle, watching birds through the open window, sleeping on Filip’s lap while he worked, and playing with his feline sister, Bohunka. He wasn’t just a pet - he was a cherished member of our family.

Through this fundraiser, we hope to cover the costs of Oliver’s final farewell, including veterinary care, individual cremation, transportation, and a memorial urn.

These expenses amount to approximately CZK 15,000 (around €600).

If the amount raised exceeds the goal, this amount will be donated to animal shelters and organisations that care for abandoned and sick cats 🤍
