It's not easy to write these things.

But I have reached a point where there is nothing more to do but to speak with my heart open.

For a long time now I have been unable to offer anything to my family.

Not even a new outfit for my children, or something small that will bring them joy.

I see them walking around in the same, old clothes, and I try to smile at them so they don't feel the despair that eats away at me.

There is no shame in being poor - there is shame in closing your eyes in the face of pain.

And today I ask those who can, to see us, not as just another "request for help",

but as a family struggling to hold on.

A home in danger of being lost.

Two children who deserve to have hope.

And a father trying not to let his dignity fade away.

If you can help us stand a little longer.

Take a breath, keep our children warm, don't lose the only thing we have left: our home and our family.

and our faith.
