Description
Dear friends volunteers in our fundraiser, I greet you.
I am a foster parent of a little orphan girl from Uganda. I took her from the orphanage on the outskirts of Kampala in Uganda, two years ago , at the age of three years, as a foster parent and for two years I lived with her in Kampala , until the adoption court and we returned as a family to Greece with my daughter Maria aged five years now.
During the two years I lived in Uganda I got to know many orphanages and the people who provide food, shelter and learning for the orphans.
I also saw how many needs there are and how many single parent families, single mothers, aged 16 to 30 years old struggle on their own to raise one, two or three children each.
I felt their anguish and desperation in the face of their starving children and their need for support from kind foreign souls from the developed world.
I consider it my duty to help as many orphans or children of single-parent families as I can.
That is why I am stepping forward to organize this fundraiser so that I can support these children.
There is already an initial base of support from the Greek Orthodox Priest, Fr. Anthony, who has been supporting over 1300 orphaned children for many years by providing shelter, food and learning.
I saw in his eyes the love and determination to offer a future to these children but also his agony.
Anxiety because every day he wakes up he has to take care of 1300 strangers - his own children. No one forced him to do it. Only his love of giving gave the command in his heart and he obeys it every day.
He is so responsible that I felt deep inside that I have to support him and strengthen his work.
So please any kind soul who learns about the fundraiser, please contribute as much as and when you can . Even one euro can provide food for some children in need. The school fees are 25 euros per month for each child.
Another 25 euros is enough to feed, shelter and clothe them. That is 50 euros a month , if one offers, one takes on the future of a child who will probably be returned to the street, as my own daughter was found at the age of seven months dying of starvation. Someone found her and delivered her to the orphanage where she was fed and sheltered until the age of three when my wife and I took her in, If we had not been motivated by an inner impulse and love to set out from Greece thousands of kilometres away and take her in, her life was predetermined. At the age of five, as she is now, she would have been sent away from this orphanage to another until she was ten years old. Then back on the road again a little girl orphaned with no one to provide her with the basics. where she would surely be taken advantage of or raped by someone and be a pregnant child and then a child-mother with no support. harsh reality, but that's what it is.
So the reason I am doing this is because my daughter is asking me to do this. Before we left Uganda she was collecting food from home, putting it in her child bag and telling me ''Daddy let's go and give it to the children of Fr. Anthony, they have nothing to eat.
She did the same with her clothes and toys. When we left, she distributed all her clothes and toys to the children on the street in the neighborhood where we lived.
And she asked me to keep giving them to them so I wouldn't forget them.
So I need everyone's support to fulfill the promise I made to my daughter and to Fr. Anthony.
That I will always offer food and shelter and learning to as many orphaned children in Africa as I can.
Many thanks to all the contributors who make the fundraiser possible and to all of you who contribute as much and whenever you can to support our work.
Dear Volunteer Friends in our fundraiser, I welcome you
I am an adoptive parent of a little orphaned girl from Uganda. I took it from the orphanage on the outskirts of Kampala in Uganda, two years ago, at the age of three, as a parenting parent and for two years I lived with her in Kampala until the court of adoption was done and returned as a family to Greece with my daughter Maria.
In the two years I lived in Uganda, I met many orphanages and people who offer food, housing and learning for orphans.
I also saw how many needs there are and how many single parent families, only mothers, aged 16 to 30, struggle to grow up one, two or three children each.
I felt their anxiety and despair in front of their hungry children and their need to support polite foreign souls from the developed world.
I find it as my obligation to help as many orphans or children of single parent families I can.
That's why I come forward to organize this fundraiser so that I can support these kids.
There is already an initial support base for the Greek Orthodox priest Father Antonios, who has been supporting more than 1300 orphaned children over the years, providing roofing and learning.
I saw in his eyes his love and determination to provide future to these children and his anxiety.
Anxious because every day he wakes up he has to take care of 1300 foreigners - his own children. No one forced him to do it. Only his love for offering gave the order to his heart and obeys daily.
He is so responsible that I have felt deep inside me that I have to support him and strengthen his work.
So please any kind soul learns about the fundraiser to contribute as much as possible. Even a euro can feed for some kids who need it. School tuition fees are 25 euros a month for each child.
So much more and will have food and roof and clothes. That is, 50 euros a month, if one offers the future of a child who will probably return to the street, as my daughter was found at the age of seven months died of starvation. Someone found her and handed her over to the orphanage where she had food and roof until the age of three that we took her with my wife, if we were not motivated by internal impulse and love to start Greece thousands of thousands of thousands of thousands of lives and her life. At the age of five, as long as she is now she would be expelled from this lamp, to go to another until the age of ten years. Then on the road a little girl orphan without anyone offering her the basics. Wherever someone would exploit her or raped her and be a child-guy child and then a mother without any support.
So the reason I do this is because my daughter asks me. Before we leave Uganda she was collecting food from home, putting them in her children's bag and telling me 'Daddy let's give them to the little kids of Fr. Antonios, they don't have to eat.
When we left, she distributed all her clothes and toys to the kids on the road to the neighborhood we lived.
And he asked me to give them continuity, not to forget them.
So I need the support of all of you to fulfill the promise I made to my daughter and Pantonios.
That I will always offer food and housing and learning to the most orphaned children in Africa.
Thank you very much to all the contributors who give the opportunity to organize the fundraiser and all those who contribute to whatever you can to support our work.
