Hello everyone, friends, acquaintances, strangers, and all those who empathise with human suffering!

Life has turned out in such a way that 15 years ago, my husband fell ill! Ten years ago, my father-in-law fell ill; he passed away in 2020, and in the meantime, following his death, my mother-in-law became bedridden!

To care for them and manage daily life, I stopped working to look after her, but I completely stopped making time for myself, as my husband’s condition also worsened, with constant hospitalisations; treatment in Turkey became necessary, my mother-in-law passed away in 2024, and the family faced yet another significant expense! However, I was left without any social security cover, and on top of that I developed 5 or 6 serious illnesses: diabetes, Hashimoto’s, gout; I need urgent surgery for severe carpal tunnel syndrome, and quite a few other accompanying conditions! I can’t even work, and I’m a seamstress by trade!

My husband can barely stand up for even the slightest thing! We live on his pension of 609 BGN. I fully understand that there are many like us!!!

I’m not entitled to medicines through the National Health Insurance Fund; I’m treated as a person of low income under Decree No. 17, and the dilemma every morning is EXISTENTIAL!

I can’t eat many things because my illnesses won’t let me!

I’m due for a medical assessment, but I’ll probably only get some sort of pension come spring—if I live that long!

We go to bed hungry 25 days a month, we miss taking our medication, they cut off our electricity and TV! Everything of value we had has been sold to pawn shops; even our car has been pawned!

We’ve been looking after four kittens at home for years, adopted back when I was still healthy! 

IF ANYONE DECIDES IT MAKES SENSE TO HELP EVEN A LITTLE, I WILL BE GRATEFUL!
