We have only days to save their home.

We are Vive Le Mace, a Croatian non-profit association dedicated to rescuing and caring for abandoned, sick, elderly and special-needs cats.

Today, 75 rescued cats and three dogs live in this house.

For many of them, this is not a temporary stop on the way to adoption. Some are elderly, chronically ill, FeLV-positive or have other conditions that make finding a permanent home extremely difficult.

This house is their home. And now we are in immediate danger of losing it.

The house was purchased with the intention of creating a permanent safe place for rescued cats and eventually registering part of the property as a shelter for sick and elderly cats.

Over the years, while we were rescuing, feeding and treating animals week after week, we were also struggling to keep the house financially secure.

Financial difficulties, periods of blocked finances, illness, difficult personal circumstances and decisions that did not work out as hoped eventually made it impossible to maintain the repayments as originally planned.

The property is now facing a public auction.

We recently found a possible solution that would allow us to continue repaying the debt in monthly instalments and asked the bank to postpone the auction.

The bank has now given us one urgent condition:

€10,000 must be paid by September 1, 2026.

This fundraiser therefore has a goal of exactly €10,000.

It is not an estimated amount.

It is the amount requested by the bank to give us a chance to keep this house.

More than three times the 75 cats currently living here have passed through this home over the years.

Some recovered and were adopted.

Others spent their final months or years here, safe, warm and cared for.

And some are still with us today because there was simply nowhere else for them to go.

Every room, staircase and protected outdoor area has gradually become part of their world.

Our long-term plan has been to secure the property permanently and register part of it as a shelter specifically dedicated to sick, elderly and difficult-to-adopt cats.

Losing the house would not simply mean losing a building.

It would mean losing the home of 75 cats who have nowhere else to go.

The money raised through this emergency fundraiser will be used toward the €10,000 payment required by the bank by September 1, 2026, in an effort to prevent the loss of the property and allow us to continue with a sustainable repayment arrangement.

We want this campaign to be completely transparent.

Documentation concerning the property, the public auction and the bank's payment requirement can be provided for verification where appropriate.

We are not asking people to believe an anonymous story on the internet.

There is a real house.

There are 75 real cats living in it.

There is a real deadline.

And right now, we need help.

If many people give even a small amount, something that looks impossible today may still become possible.
