We have a heartbreaking story to share with you. My 70-year-old father-in-law is in danger of losing his home, the house his late mother left him. He wanted to live out his remaining years there in peace and quiet. He’s worked hard all his life, but unfortunately, he’s now been the victim of a civil lawsuit. Where he’s been fraudulently stripped of most of his property, leaving him without all the things he’s worked for his whole life.

My wife and I) have been doing everything we can to help him, but we’re struggling financially ourselves. We’re working hard to cover the costs and have even taken on tax debts to work on the lawsuit and house him. We won the lawsuit at first, but unfortunately, we ultimately lost the case on appeal. Now, we are waiting in desperation for the day when the old man will be forced out of the only home he’s ever known.

Life is tough in Hungary, especially for a pensioner who can’t protect himself on his own. We haven’t given up hope of finding a solution, but we’re hoping to raise a small amount of money for a house to prepare for the worst-case scenario. We need to raise EUR 25,000, or around HUF 10 million, so he can spend his retirement years in peace and safety.
