I'm Dilans, a 26-years-young disabled trans man, born in Latvia and currently residing in Hungary with my long-term girlfriend. I came out as trans to my friends 10 years ago and after a long societal and financial struggle, started my medical transition - HRT - in 2022. I'm an artist in all ways imaginable - I write stories, movies, music, poetry, I'm a photographer and a videographer. I'm currently unemployed and living on scarce unemployed benefits after a 6 month long sick leave I had to take due to severe health issues. UPDATE AS OF SUMMER 2026: I'm finally employed! But now I'm paying back all the loans I took out during my unemployment.

Top surgery is something I need in order to be able to fit into the society and feel at ease in my body. Being on testosterone has helped with my gender dysphoria a lot, however, my chest is still a constant pain and reminder that I'm not enough of the person I aspire to be. I can't wear tight, restricting binders for my whole life, and I am hoping that when I'm able to collect the funds and get my health to where it needs to be to qualify for top surgery, I can get it done back in my home country. The double incision surgery would last 3 hours, with an additional 2 day hospital stay. The total costs of the surgery are around 4,500 EUR, but I would also require to pay for my travels from Hungary to Latvia with my required companion, as well as cover the cost of several health procedures and tests prior and after surgery.

Top surgery would not only benefit my daily struggles with gender dysphoria, but also improve my health. In order to be able to receive this treatment, I have been working hard on improving my blood sugar levels caused by type 1 diabetes, as well as putting an end to my nicotine and alcohol addiction, triggered by my traumatic childhood. I have been sober since July 18th of 2025, and have severely cut down my nicotine intake, and am confident I can quit for good once my surgery date is confirmed. I can do these three big things and kill four birds with one stone, but I am not able to afford the costs of the surgery - so, I am kindly asking you to help me on that front. Any donation is very appreciated by me, as it would decrease the bank loan I would need to take out.
