Baltazar is a kitten found on the streets; he is nearly four months old and was diagnosed with panleucopenia two weeks ago.

He was admitted as an emergency case to one of the best clinics in Cluj, USAMV, which allows him to be monitored overnight. Baltazar fought the panleucopenia and by the sixth day the symptoms had subsided.

His body managed to overcome this ordeal and he was discharged after a further two days of observation. But not for long. The illness had lingered in his body for too long, severely affecting his intestines; he was left with severe diarrhoea and was unable to absorb nutrients to properly recover, so he went into a hypoglycaemic coma and we went through the whole ordeal again, admitting him to A&E for a second time.

Constant monitoring is required to protect him from episodes caused by low blood sugar; we remain hopeful that the treatments provided will give his intestines enough time to recover.

However, the cost of hospitalisation is 250 per day, and continuing his treatment will not be possible without your help. Any contribution can help keep him alive until he recovers.
