Description
Sometimes a journey doesn’t begin with a big step, but with a quiet decision:
to help others.
This was the case for Vanessa, who, after completing her A-levels and gaining her first work experience, decided to become a psychotherapist – specialising in psychoanalysis.
She is currently in the fifth semester of her degree in psychotherapy and has already successfully completed two stages (Bachelor’s degree) at her own expense.
The training is demanding and in-depth – it requires not only time but also considerable financial resources:
- Training analysis (compulsory): approx. €33,000
- Master’s degree (4 × €7,800): approx. €31,200
- Practical training hours (1,600 hours, mostly unpaid)
- Living costs
The total cost amounts to over €46,000, which is not covered by either government grants or scholarships.
As Vanessa’s mother, I have already covered part of the fees and have exhausted my own resources, so we are now seeking support in this way.
Vanessa is currently working part-time to fund her studies, but once her extensive compulsory internship begins, this will hardly be feasible.
Every contribution – whether large or small – helps ensure she can continue on her path.
A path that will ultimately benefit many people: those seeking support during mental health crises, those living with anxiety, depression or trauma, and those who need someone to listen – to really listen.
Anyone who knows Vanessa knows the empathy, sincerity and dedication with which she approaches this profession.
She wants to support the mental health of others – and now needs a little support herself to achieve this goal.
A heartfelt thank you to everyone who is supporting her on this journey – whether through a donation, by sharing this page, or simply by sending her positive thoughts.
