Twelve years ago, I rescued a Belgian Malinois from ending up in a shelter. He was barely two years old at the time, and his original owner tried to turn him into an aggressive guard dog. Instead of proper training, he was abused. When the "training" failed, his owner decided to get rid of him. That’s how he ended up with me.

It wasn’t an easy beginning, but over time, he proved to be a loyal and loving companion. During his first Christmas with me, I gifted him two tiny kittens. He immediately took them under his wing, caring for them as if they were his own. Since then, they have been inseparable. They live together in my rented house, with complete freedom—running outside in the garden during the day and coming inside to sleep at night.

But now we face a big problem. The house is going to be demolished to make way for a new highway bypass. Since I am only a tenant, I will receive no compensation, and I will have to move out.

I can find a place for myself—rent a small room, live in a hostel—but where can my dog and his cat family go? These three are a true family. When I take my dog on a walk, I can see how excited he is to return home to his cats. And when we come back, they are already waiting for him, running to greet him and rubbing against him. I simply cannot separate them.

I have found several affordable plots of land where I could build a small house. I don’t need luxury, just a safe home for all of us. I don’t even need utilities—I have my own off-grid solar system, which I already use in my current home and can take with me.

I am not asking for much. I only need a modest home and a small piece of land for my animals. In addition to my dog and cats, I also have 15 chickens. If I can’t take them with me, I will give them away—I could never bring myself to slaughter them, but I know they would otherwise have no chance.

I am fully capable of handling this myself—I have already built a house from the ground up once before. I just need enough funds to buy land and get basic building materials.
