Hi,

my name is Margaret, and I’m reaching out with something that’s not easy to ask but it comes from the honest place.

I’m 28 and live in Poland. I work at a bank and earn around €1000 per month.

Art is my passion, I love to pohotography and painting. I dream about starting a family, and one day, founding an NGO to support people who are grieving or facing the end of life. But for now, I focus on simply surviving, paying rent, taking care of my health, and meeting basic needs. Everything else feels just out of reach. But, I won't stop. I keep trying.

Growing up, I struggled with eating disorders, depression, and anxiety. I also live with ASD (Autism Spectrum Disorder), which shapes how I experience and interact with the world.

For many years, self-care was hard, but I know I’m making real progress. I’ve invested everything I have into healing my mental and physical health. I’m currently managing depression, anxiety, and irritable bowel syndrome. But despite my efforts, there are still areas I cannot afford to take care of fully, like my dental health. I know it's important, but not urgent. I can leave without nice smile, so it always got pushed aside, when other issues where calling for my attention.

Because of my past eating disorders, I developed early periodontitis (gum disease), which has worsened with time. Smiling, speaking, and feeling confident have always been difficult for me. I want to smile freely, to show happiness and pride without something inside telling me to hide.

Unfortunately, dental care and braces are extremely expensive, (between €5000 and €8000) in Poland. On my income, saving even a small portion of that is nearly impossible. I often feel stuck, unable to move forward or reach for better opportunities, as I often lack the confidence. Maybe I’ll be able to afford it on my own one day, maybe when I’m 40. But I really, really want to be able to smile now, while I’m still young, and live without hiding a part of myself.

That’s why I finally decided to ask for help.

I believe that a healthy, confident smile could truly change how I move through the world. It’s not just about appearance, I feel it is about reclaiming my voice and confidence after years of struggle.
